A couple months ago I set up my 4 hosted websites with WordPress. An easy task.
- One website was on a different web hosting server.
- Three websites were all using the same webhosting service.
I don’t recall the reason I went to an inexpensive web hosting service. It was pretty similar to my other web hosting company but less per month.
Well… so I thought.
Yes, you guessed it.
My 3 websites in less than a day were quickly and painlessly installed and set up with WordPress and Flexsqueeze.
The next day the same WP and Flexsqueeze are uploaded, installed and set up on the other website hosting company server. After doing 3 installs and set ups I allocated a bit of time in the morning to have it done.
Instead it was a bloody struggle getting the scripts working on this inexpensive server.
However, after a hard-fought battle it did get installed and running.
It’s what happened next which shoots steam out my ears.
Simple automatic update changes minds
Two days after installing and getting everything working a WordPress up date shows up. The blog has an automatic update. Which is working flawlessly with my other 3 websites.
But, on the inexpensive web server, the auto up date would not work. Meaning a long and slow manual up date had to be done. For something that took 60 seconds at most with the best web hosting service takes hours with inexpensive.
Hands down web hosting winner is known
Stood up and halted working on the web site on the bad web hosting service. Drains your energy, time and money.
The website would have to be moved. As I asked who would want to waste so much time on an inexpensive web hosting service, when you are productive doing something else using the best.
Realize your time is worth a lot
This was a big eye opener to me with hosting companies. As just the day before it was painless installing WordPress on three of my websites in a snap. But on the inexpensive web hosting server all your extra time you must spend doing a simple tasks.
Yes the new update did auto update in a matter of seconds on the server my 3 websites hosted on. Maybe taking 35…47 seconds at most. I was able to get right down to business then spending hours trying to get it to work.
You may be uploading the files or have someone hired who is knowledgeable for your website. Go ahead make their job easier saving you a lot of money in wages.
If you’re paying someone then you sure don’t want to have them spending hours trying to get something working when it can easily be done and quickly working – if using
